As he clocks 86 today, we decided there’s none other to grace this week of our Man Inspirational Monday than our own Wole Soyinka. Born today in the year, 1934, this icon was brought up in the city of Abẹ́òkúta.
A political activist and playwright, he received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1986. He attended Government College and University College before before proceedings for more education in the University of Leeds, England. Returning to Nigeria, he founded an art company and wrote his first play, A Dance Of The Forests. His other notable works include The Lion And The Jewel, The Trails Of Brother Jero and The Strong Breed to mention a few.
Over time, he’s blazed many trails and proven he’s a light this world needed. We’re really honored to have him grace our pages. Happy Birthday Sir. May his good days be long.
